What are the differences between a cPanel & WHM® Dedicated Server license, a Virtual Private Server (VPS) license, and a cPanel Solo™ license?
- cPanel & WHM Dedicated Server License: This license is designed to be used on a fully dedicated server or server in which 100% of the hardware is allocated to the operations of that machine.
- cPanel & WHM Virtual Private Server (VPS) License: This license is designed to be used within an environment running such virtualization software as listed at http://go.cpanel.net/sysrequirements. This license has the exact same features as a Dedicated Server License; however, the VPS license simply optimizes the install configuration to make the best use of memory and processors on a virtualized environment.
- cPanel & WHM cPanel Solo License: This license is a single user server license designed to be used on either a fully dedicated server or within an environment running virtualization software. This license has the exact same features as a VPS or Dedicated Server License; however, the cPanel Solo license is intended for those web hosts or individuals who only need one user to manage their hosting account.

Information on Publicly Visible IP Addresses
- cPanel & WHM requires a publicly visible IP address to function properly. Your hosting provider or data center can assign public IP address for use with licensing directly. Dynamic, sticky, or internal IP address will not function with the cPanel & WHM licensing software.
